Origins of the name

Okay so if you haven't figured out where the name of this this blog, ... So, there you goes!, originates from it's pretty simple and fun.  Five simple words: MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING.  If you haven't seen this movie shame on you.  Now go sit in the corner until you realize what you did.

For those of you not sitting in a corner sobbing like a little girl I hope that you are making the connection to the main character's, Toula, father, Gus, who constantly is taking words and breaking them down to their "Greek" origins.  For example:

Gus: Now, gimme a word, any word, and I'll show you how the root of that word is Greek. Okay? How about arachnophobia? Arachna, that comes from the Greek word for spider, and phobia is a phobia, is mean fear. So, fear of spider, there you go.
Schoolgirl: Okay, Mr. Portokalos. How about the word kimono?
Young Athena[whispers] Good one.
Gus Portokalos: Kimono, kimono, kimono. Ha! Of course! Kimono is come from the Greek word himona, is mean winter. So, what do you wear in the wintertime to stay warm? A robe. You see: robe, kimono. There you go!

Now I realize it's not a direct quote... but someone who hasn't posted anything since 2005 already has "sothereyougo" as a url address <insert bitterness here>.

... So, there you goes!
