Okay, so I realize I completely blanked out with the whole blogging thing for the entire month of July so we are going to do a quick recap! Here is July in a nutshell (but not like the squirrel I posted).
Month started out pretty slow still waiting for the new job to start. Painted my apartment at the end of June (as posted) so I was cleaning that up for a while. OH! I forgot that I am actually not too bad of a cook! I had random things that I had bought food wise in my fridge and I managed to put them together into some pretty rocking meals. One such meal was for a picnic Caleb (just friend at that point) and I went on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks at Navy Pier. If I remember correctly I made a chicken dish that was in a mushroom wine sauce thing. I think I even wrote down what all I did for that one too... no idea where it is though! Moving over to the fireworks I guess. They were okay. It was 15 mins of what was said to be matched with music. I am soooo spoiled by the Detroit fireworks! It was a nice evening though.
Lets see what was next. Alright, I guess we'll move into the boy department because some of you have been bugging me about that. So (of what I recall, I'm so bad) Caleb and I decided to officially start dating just after the fireworks. Our first date was to go see Beauty and the Beast the musical. It was not so great, the musical, not the date. Second impromptu date, was to see Peter Pan in the big tent the next day. He managed to score free tickets from a friend! It was awesome! Blah blah blah, we hung out some, blah blah blah. Ummmm (I'm going to regret this later I'm sure), I think we dubbed each other boyfriends the night we saw Harry Potter Part 2. If I remember right then, our "anniversary" is the day the final HP movie came out. At least there's an easy reference if I need one! Okay, that's enough about that! ^_^
What else, what else... oh right that whole job thing! So I have my own office! I think it's bigger than my room back home. My building is located in the Loop. It's a block east from Michigan Ave across from the Art Institute. There is actually a great little spot I found next to the Institute to sit down and have lunch. There are a bunch of spots to sit down and a nice fountain that drains out the noise of the city pretty well. Things have been going a little slow work wise. Granted, it's a brand new position and everyone is still trying to get used to me existing and figuring what my uses really will be. My boss assures me that once the quarter starts (which DePaul has 7 quarters... yeah) I'm going to be swamped!
Hmmm, what else was in July. Last week Caleb and I went and saw West Side Story. It was good. Some parts were hard to hear and they made some of my favorite songs be in Spanish... not a fan of it. Other than that I think that covers July... Hopefully I'll be a better blogger in August!
... So, there you goes!
